Tubular Vacuolization

The occurrence of tubular vacuolation in an allograft biopsy, in the absence of changes of rejection, can be used as an indication to reduce the dosage of tacrolimus or cyclosporine. It should be kept in mind, however, that isometric tubular vacuolation is also described after administration of mannitol and injection of radiographic contrast media.
