This is an example of mild bile duct inflammation and damage. Note
the presence of
lymphocytes inside the basement membrane of the bile duct and the
reactive changes in the
biliary epithelium. In the
Banff schema
, this lesion would receive a score of "1"
for bile duct
damage if similar changes were present in more than an occasional,
but not a majority of bile ducts.
