Rapidly developing fibro-intimal hyperplasia can appear
within a week after transplantation in ABO incompatible
liver allografts. In the example shown above, note the
marked edema of the adventitia and media of the artery,
along with the proliferating intimal myofibroblasts and
endothelial cell hypertrophy.
