GVD results in concentric narrowing of the epicardial coronary arteries, which
predisposes to arterial thrombosis. In this section from a failed allograft
at removed at the time of retransplantation, note the intimal thickening
and superimposed arterial thrombosis(arrow). Note also the adventitial
inflammation.
