Bile ductular proliferation at the interface zone is typically seen in
fibrosing cholestatic hepatitis. The CK19 stain in this case nicely highlights
the neocholangioles present in zone 1. These ductules are usually surrounded by
a mild neutrophilic exudate. In contrast to viral hepatitis in
non-immunosuppressed patients, the portal mononuclear infiltrate is usually
quite mild in fibrosing cholestatic hepatitis.
