Heart Allograft Biopsy Interpretation

Figure 1. This is an example of a normal endomyocardial biopsy, or a Grade 0 rejection. In contrast to the histological appearance of cardiac muscle at autopsy, contraction bands can be seen in endomyocardial biopsies from allograft recipients and are without clinical significance.
