Humoral Rejection

Humoral Rejection
As shown here, necrosis of the large septal bile duct is not an infrequent complication of severe humoral rejection. This complication is a result of arterial injury and subsequent ischemic injury to the biliary tree. It results in leakage of bile into the surrounding connective tissue. Note the presence the damaged hepatic artery branch(arrow) supplying this necrotic bile duct.
