Figure 5. This trichrome stain also nicely demonstrates how the large extracellular fat globules plug the sinusoids and disrupt sinusoidal blood flow. This is typically associated with fibrinolysis and a bleeding diathesis, that makes it difficult to achieve hemostasis during operative closure.
