Final Diagnosis (Case 2)

ALLOGRAFT HEART, ENDOMYOCARDIAL BIOPSY -
  1. NO TO FOCAL MILD ACUTE CELLULAR REJECTION, GRADE 0-1A.
  2. MILD ENDOCARDIAL FIBROSIS.

Gross Description - Case 2

The specimen consists of three (3) consult slides with an accompanying surgical pathology report.


Microscopic Description - Case 2

There are four fragments of endomyocardium, two of which contain a minimal to mild perivascular inflammatory infiltrate. Myocyte necrosis is not identified. Mild endocardial fibrosis is seen. No infectious organisms are identified.
