The histopathological changes associated with chronic viral type B hepatitis
in an allograft are very similar to those seen in non-allografted livers.
There is portal mononuclear inflammation that can spillover into the edge of
the lobule. This is usually associated with periportal hepatocyte necrosis
and a ductular reaction, which altogether, can be referred to as interface
activity .
