Figure 4. Foam cell obliterative arteriopathy is also characteristic of chronic liver allograft rejection. It is rarely detected in a needle biopsy, although this biopsy does shows clusters of foam cells impinging on the adventitia of a small hepatic artery branch in the portal tract(arrow).
