Figure 8. Endocardial inflammation, separate from Quilty lesions, can be seen as a component of acute rejection. In this example of a grade 3A rejection, note the presence of a mixed endocardial infiltrate, which contain mononuclear cells, eosinophils and occasional neutrophils.
