Adenovirus

Adenovirus

Adenovirus has been associated with hemorrhagic cystitis in renal transplant patients and in rare occasions the renal parenchyma is involved (adenovirus pyelonephritis). There has been only one report of adenovirus infection in a combined kidney-pancreas transplant recipient. Adenovirus type 11 was demonstrated in some renal tubules but the pancreas allograft continued to have normal function and apparently was not affected.
