Obliterative Arteriopathy in Chronic Liver Allograft Rejection

Obliterative arteriopathy is the characteristic feature of chronic rejection in all vascularized solid organ allografts. In the liver, it principally manifests as foam cell transformation of the intima and media. This results in lumenal narrowing and a predisposition to thrombosis.
