Tubular Atrophy

Tubular Atrophy
Figure 6. Immunofluorescence showing linear IgG deposits within tubular basement membranes(TBM) in a patient with chronic transplant glomerulopathy and severe tubular atrophy. Circulating anti-TBM antibodies are demonstrable in 3% of renal transplant recipients, but these are believed to be a secondary response to tubular antigens released by ischaemically injured tissue. Immunoglobulin trapping within atrophic tubules lesion is probably a non-specific phenomenon.
