Acute Interstitial Nephritis

Acute Interstitial
                         Nephritis
Figure 1. A renal allograft biopsy containing numerous aggregates of neutrophils within the tubules. Grocott staining for fungi was negative. Acute interstitial nephritis can be diagnosed on histologic grounds, and clinical work-up is indicated to exclude pyelonephritis.
