Privacy Policy:

TPIS activity is measured by Google Analytics in order to determine usage statistics and to evaluate which portions of our website appear to be the most useful to our users. Standard information gathered in this manner includes the origin of user (i.e., geographic location) and pages visited, time spent on site, etc. No personal information is gathered.

The interactive portions of TPIS, such as the message board, do require user registration for participation. Only information provided by the user is retained, and this is not passed on to any third parties. On occasion, we may send you an e-mail to the address provided, in order to determine if you are an individual requesting valid access to our message board or an automated spammer (if you are reading this we assume that the latter is not the case!). The e-mail address is not used for any other purpose and is not passed on to other parties. You have the option of posting messages to the message board, and we will not modify any of your content. We do reserve the right to remove the message if we determine that it contains inappropriate, derogatory, offensive or otherwise irrelevant content. We strive to maintain this as a professional site and appreciate your help in this regard. The messages are reviewed by Dr. Nalesnik on at least a weekly basis.

E-mail addresses and content of your postings, along with other information sent by you such as username and password, are maintained on a TPIS server database accessible by members of TPIS only. The aggregate data may be used for internal statistics, but individual data is not. No one is identified by name in any internal or external reports related to TPIS.

The message board uses cookies for anonymous session and user information during viewing only. No information is held, and the TPIS site otherwise does not use cookies.

We do not solicit medical data from identifiable individuals. All medical or pathological-based discussions are performed in an academic setting, following HIPAA guidelines for maintaining patient anonymity. The minimal amount of patient information necessary to facilitate academic discussion is used. When dates are used, they may be altered to further mask the event under discussion. However, the time intervals between dates will not be changed. In most cases, only the time intervals, and not actual dates, are used.

TPIS is not a consultative service. The Transplant Pathology Division maintains a separate consultation service that is accessible on the Divisional webpage, outside of the TPIS website.
